[www.inewsguyana.com] – Deodat ‘Popcorn’ Seecharran, who was on the Police wanted list was shot and killed late Sunday night (April 06) during an exchange of gunfire with the police.

Seecharran was implicated in the recent murder of 48 – year – old Patricia Samaroo and wounding her sister at Fyrish Village, Corentyne.

iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) understands that the man was spotted by residents in East Canje Berbice, who immediately informed the police.

However, when the ranks arrived at the area the suspect tried to escape but was confronted and shot, allegedly by the Police.

On March 07, two masked men entered the home of Samaroo and her sister, where they shot Samaroo to death and wounded her sister.

According to reports, the two women and their family of eight were all at home watching television when the two men invaded the house and identified themselves as Police Officers. One of the masked men pulled out a firearm and started firing shots, hitting Samaroo to her head and shoulder.

The dead man was also wanted into connection with two other murders on the Corentyne. Investigations are ongoing.
