[www.inewsguyana.com] – An Office Assistant of Shell Gas Station who resides at Lot 69 Freeman Street, East La enitence, Georgetown and facing drug possession charges was today (Friday, March 14) fined $3,000 and ordered to perform community services by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Quincy Spelling appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to the charge, particulars of which detailed that on March 12 at Freeman Street, he had in his possession 4 grammes of cannabis-sativa (marijuana).

The accused told the Court that he was advised to use the illegal substance to make tea for a sickness he suffered.
