[www.inewsguyana.com] – Johnny Welshman this morning attempted suicide by consuming bleach; all in an effort for “justice to be served.”
Welshman is the young man who accused Speaker of the National Assembly, Raphael Trotman of sexually abusing him when he was a child.
iNews understands that the Police were summoned to his Albertown apartment after he reportedly drank bleach and was threatening to ingest a poisonous substance. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and is in police custody for attempting suicide.
Welshman, in his Facebook post this morning, stated: “the police came and ransack my apartment and took me in police custody…that’s Guyana justice…I am at Georgetown hospital in police custody.”
Several different pills and a poisonous liquid were found in his apartment. iNews understands that he alert when the officers got there and reportedly told investigators that he drank bleach and wanted to commit suicide.
Welshman also reportedly told investigators that he was encouraged to attempt suicide as a way of “getting back at the Speaker and keeping attention on the matter”.
The young threatened to take his own life since yesterday after Chief Justice, Ian Chang upheld his decision preventing Welshman from speaking or posting any information on his Facebook page about the sexual allegations.
One of his Facebook posts yesterday noted: “I can’t take it anymore I wanted justice and I am the one that is constantly harass on the road etc…Well live with yourself at my death…I know I will be in hell cause I committed suicide but I rather Die than to continue living in pain… Seems you have to die before people take you seriously.”
After the CJ’s ruling, Welshman sped out of the CJ’s chambers and shared his frustration and disbelief over the decision.
“Same nonsense, pure politics… I was given an undertaken that I cannot say anything on my social media… Guyana has no blasted cyber laws!”
The Speaker has since filed a $50 Million lawsuit against Welshman.
