[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 30- year-old man known to many as “Fix-Up”, accused of seriously wounding another man, appeared before City Magistrate, Fabayo Azore to answer to the indictable offense of attempted murder.

It is alleged that the accused, Quincy Henry of no fixed place of abode, on Sunday September 20, 2015 at Bourda, Georgetown with intent to commit murder, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Troy Bacchus.

Henry was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge; however he was slapped with another charge before Magistrate Azore, which alleged that on October 12, 2015 at Orange Walk Bourda, being armed with a knife, he robbed Zhati Lang, a Chinese National of $100,000.

Henry pleaded not guilty to the offense. According to the Prosecution, as it relates to the first offense, the accused, who is allegedly known to be a steady drug user, is in the habit of asking persons for money to purchase drugs.

When they object, he would then display and carry-out acts of violence against individuals.  In this regard, the Prosecution further described that Henry on the day in question, after being refused money from the virtual complainant Bacchus, he violently attacked him.

When given a chance to say something relating to the armed robbery of Zhati Lang, Henry denied ever stealing the total amount of $100,000; he claimed he stole $2,500.

Nonetheless, he was eventually remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on October 27.
