[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men accused of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking have been remanded to prison following their court appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that 34 – year-old Dwight Samaroo and 23 – year-old Hubert Rambarose, a Taxi Driver of Lot 6 Second Street, Meadow Bank, East Bank Demerara, had in their possession 1.452 kg of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking on October 20, 2015 at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.

Their lawyer in his bail application explained to the court that his clients have no pending or previous matters in court. However, Magistrate Fabayo Azore denied bail and remanded the duo to prison.

They are scheduled to make their next court appearance on October 27 before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
