[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men who had posed as bogus cops and were recently slapped with 8 charges are expected to appear in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court today (April1) to face several other charges including two counts of murder.
Former Guyana DefenceForce rank and market vendor 26-year-old Rayon Paddy of 278 South Ruimveldt Park Georgetown along with construction worker Orin Arthur, 25, of Block X Diamond East Bank Demerara were arrested during a police sting operation in Diamond last Friday.
Senior sources in the Guyana Police Force have confirmed that subsequent to investigations carried out by the police, it was revealed that the .32 gun seized during the men’s arrest is the same weapon used to murder Wilfred Stewart at the Sterling Products Limited on December 08, 2014.
It was also discovered that the same gun was also used in the execution style killing of Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) employee Trevor Abrams on February 27 on the East Bank Demerara as he was heading to Georgetown.
During the December 08, 2014 shooting at Sterling Products, eyewitness related to police that a car load of men showed up at the facility and barged into the compound; they first turned their attention to Stewart who always carries a firearm and shot him two times killing him the process.
They also injured Indian National, Gabriel Dass before attempting to make their way to the finance department of the company; those efforts were however unsuccessful although the men were able to relieve the security guard of his firearm after killing him.
On Monday the two suspects had combined a total of seventeen charges read against them stemming from allegations of illegal road blocks, being in possession of ammunition, unlicensed firearm and a spate of robberies.
Meanwhile, the Guyana Police Force is in pursuit of another man who was once an officer.The third man managed to escape the police on Friday evening.
