[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man and woman, accused of murder, was on Monday placed on bail after they made a Court appearance before Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to the capital offence.
It is alleged that 44 – year – old Karen Reece, a mother of three and 41 – year – old Charles Brown both on January 4, at Papi Show Landing, Mazaruni, Potaro; they unlawfully killed David Marks.
The Prosecution objected to bail due to the gravity and nature of the offence and explained that the two who were under investigation back in January for the killing of Mark and were placed on bail.
However, further investigation by the police led to the two being rearrested and charged.
The Prosecution further explained to the court that on the day in question, the number one defendant, Reece locked the doors and windows of her shop and left.
When she returned, she found the shop broken into; upon inspection she found the now deceased David Marks at a corner outside the shop which caused her to make an alarm.
Persons arrived at the scene armed with cutlasses where they cornered Marks and dealt him several blows about his body.
He was found dead sometime later with the two being arrested and charged.
Magistrate McLennan placed the two accused on $600,000 bail each.
They are to make their next court appearance on October 23 at the Baramita Magistrate’s Court.
