Update: Captured bandits had invaded Anna Catherina home

Crime scene[www.inewsguyana.com] – The three suspected bandits, who have been captured by the police, had earlier in the day invaded the house in Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara.

The Guyana Police Force confirmed that at about 05:45 hrs on Tuesday, June 09, two men, one of who whom was armed with a handgun, entered the home of Wazim Khan, 54 years, of Anna Catherina, through an open door and held him at gunpoint.

They took away a video camera and a cell phone and escaped. According to the police report, later, at about 09:15 hrs, four men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, held up Rasheed Ramesh of Hague Backdam at Hague and took away his bicycle.

Ramesh raised an alarm and residents came out in response. The police was informed and also quickly responded and with the assistance of the residents caught three of the men.

An unlicensed .38 revolver with two rounds and the stolen bicycle were recovered. Efforts are continuing to locate the other perpetrator. The three men, one of whom has been identified as being involved in the armed robbery at Anna Catherina, are in police custody.

iNews had earlier reported that one of the suspects has been identified as Ryan Anthony Sawh.
