Bystander shot during argument in Plaisance; suspect yet to be arrested


POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING[] – Thirty – four – year old Jomo Lewis is nursing two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and shoulder after he was mistakenly shot by another man on Sunday, July 26.

According to a police report, at approximately 2:45 hrs, two men were involved in an argument on the Plaisance Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara, when one of them discharged rounds at the other which missed and struck Lewis.

Lewis of Plaisance Squatting Area, has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital or medical treatment. The suspect has not yet been arrested and investigations are in progress.
