[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police have arrested a man moments after he allegedly attempted to intrude a house in Albouys Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.

According to reports, at about 11:00 hrs today (Thursday April 17), 35 – year – old businessman Rafeek Singh and his wife Bibiwattie Singh were alerted to noise at the back of their home.

On checking, Singh was confronted by a man climbing up a ladder to his home. The perpetrator discharged a round at him.

Police ranks in the area responded to the sound of the gunshot and on approaching the scene, the armed man discharged rounds at them.

He was subsequently arrested and an unlicensed .45 Smith and Wesson pistol with five live rounds and three spent shells were recovered by the police.

The man is in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
