[www.inewsguyana.com] – Arif Williams of Triumph, East Coast Demerara (ECD) is the country’s latest road fatality. The 22 year-old young was killed on Tuesday April 28, at Montrose Public Road at around 22:30 after the motorcar he was driving toppled and crashed.
According to a police media release, Williams was driving the motor car, allegedly at a fast rate, when he reportedly swerved from a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road when the vehicle toppled.
The vehicle struck the guard hut of a residence resulting in injuries to 52 year-old security guard Mahendranauth Krishram, of Atlantic Gardens, ECD.
Nineteen-year-old Ashley Singh of LBI, ECD was also in the vehicle with Williams when the accident occurred and both men were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where Williams was pronounced dead on arrival.
Singh has been admitted to hospital while Krishram was treated and sent away.
