[www.inewsguyana.com] – Oswald Junior Yaw and Beverly Persaud, both accused of the murder of Herstelling Block Maker Nathan Persaud, on Tuesday made their second Court appearance before Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that Yaw on September 10, 2015 at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara murdered Persuad while pursuing an arrangement whereby money was passed to him from Beverly Persaud to murder her husband.

Beverly Persaud and Oswald Yaw were both previously charged separately for the murder of Persaud back in September.
However, the Prosecution petitioned that the individual charge for both of the accused be withdrawn and asked that the two be charged jointly for the capital offence.

This was granted by Magistrate McLennan after which she further remanded both Persaud and Yaw to prison.

They are set to make their next court appearance on October 20.

The 42 year-old Nathan Persaud was found dead in his home at Lot 66 Herstelling, New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara with his hands and feet bound and his head bashed into with a single stab wound to his chest.

Police recovered a hammer, two knives, and a piece of rock, all baring blood stains suspected to be from the deceased, from the scene of the crime.
