Update: Three dead in Corentyne accident, others critical

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three persons are now dead and two others are critical following an accident on the Phillipi Road, Corentyne Berbice tonight (Wednesday, June 11).

Dead are 18 – year – old Latoya Bagot, her sister, Malika Bagot, and their relative, 6 – year – old Shamain Bagot. iNews understands that the trio was heading to a relative’s house on the Phillipi Road, Corentyne when they were struck down by an alleged drunk driver, who sped away from the scene.

Eyewitnesses told iNews that before the driver slammed into the sisters, he struck down a pedal cyclist.

He then struck the sisters, fled the scene and slammed into another pedestrian further up the Corentyne. He was later arrested by the police and taken to the 51 police station.

The girls’ cousins, Dellon and Rawldon told iNews that their mother recently left the country.

  1. Is de police to be blamed for all these accidents whenever they apprehend a drunk driver they just collect de bribe and let them go dat driver should be charged and sent to life improsinment

  2. this is the sort of nonsense i am talking about the law says that you have a legal limit yet people drink to drunk then drive and kill people, the time has come for us to urge our govt and those in parliament to enact manslaughter neglient homicide etc starting with a minimun of 15 years to 75 years once convicted. This madness has to stop.
