Two Guyanese facing eight drug charges in Barbados

cocaine[Barbados Today] – Two Guyanese nationals have been slapped with eight drug charges after being caught with drugs aboard their fishing vessel.

Coco Ibert Prophett, 29, and Paul Fraser, 42, have been charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, trafficking cannabis, importation of cannabis, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, trafficking cocaine and importation of cocaine.

Prophett, the cook onboard the vessel Lady Sandra and Fraser, a sailor, were arrested after Drug Squad personnel assisted by members of the Coast Guard and Customs Enforcement conducted a search aboard the vessel last Thursday (September 10), while it was docked at the Bridgetown Port.

The search discovered 14.5 kilograms of cocaine and two kilograms of cannabis.
