Two charged with attempting to break in Kitty Bar

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men were placed on $100,000 bail each by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry after answering a joint charge of attempt to commit a felony.

Construction worker Clive Lewis, 24, and part time cellular phone technician Romario Archer both of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court heard that between May 16 and 17 at Kitty Public Road, Georgetown, they attempted to break and enter the bar of Diana Bowen, with intent to commit a felony.

Police Prosecutor, Bharat Mangru stated that Archer was employed by Bowen and on the day in question he left the bar and Bowen secured her business place.

Archer was later seen at the grill by the security guard and an alarm raise. According to the police prosecutor, the duo was seen disposing of a spanner and consequently, the police were summoned.

Bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to June 30.
