Teenager charged with Threatening Behaviour

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Seventeen – year – old Rupert Hayman of Friendship, East Bank Demerara was fined $15,000 by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a threatening behaviour charge.

Hayman pleaded guilty to the offence which stated that on November 12 at Front Road West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he made use of threatening behaviour to Phillip Waldron.

Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones, told the Court that the virtual complainant and the defendant are known to each other but are not friends.

He added that on the day in question, the victim went to a shop with another person who called Waldron an informer and dealt him a cuff to his mouth.

According to the Prosecutor, Hayman chased the victim with a cutlass.

He was fined $15,000 with a default of three weeks imprisonment and also bonded to keep the peace for 12 months.
