[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – year – old Jamal Letlow of Industrial Site, Ruimveldt, Georgetown is nursing a gunshot wound to his buttocks after he was shot shortly after allegedly snatching a woman’s gold chain.
According to the police, at about 09:45hrs on Sunday, December 14 Letlow was in a mini-bus when he requested to get off at High Street, Georgetown. While exiting the vehicle, he snatched a gold chain from a female passenger in the mini-bus.
An alarm was raised and ranks of a City Constabulary Patrol that was in the vicinity responded and gave chase. Letlow was confronted by one of the ranks whom he attacked with a knife, despite being called upon to desist, and was shot to his buttocks.
He has been admitted to the GPHC under guard as the investigations continue.
