Sophia woman stabbed to death; husband injured

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A police manhunt continues for the suspect in the brutal stabbing of a Sophia woman and her husband as they were making their way home early Wednesday evening.

According to a police report at approximately 20:15 hrs on Wednesday 40-year Janice Paul and her husband 39-year-old Eusi Paul had just arrived home when they were attacked by a man armed with a dagger.

Police say the woman was stabbed about her body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Her husband sustained injuries to his face and right hand and was treated and sent away.

Reports in local media have identified the assailant as Jerry Dalrymple, a neighbour of the couple.

Police investigations are continuing.
