The defendant denied the allegation, which stated that on Thursday, December 19 at Four Miles, Port Kaituma in the North West District, he had in his possession 729 grammes of cannabis sativa (marijuana).

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru told the court that on the day in question at around 01:30 hrs police on patrol at Port Kaituma stopped and carried out a search on his person. As a result of the search, the prohibited substance was discovered in a black plastic bag.
