[www.inewsguyana.com] –A Police motorcycle exploded under the home of an elderly man on South Road, Georgetown on Thursday morning (January 22), causing minor damages to the man’s house.

iNews understands that the police officer was patrolling the City when he encountered a mechanical problem and stopped at a volcanizing shop on South Road.

The Officer then proceeded to move the motorcycle to a mechanic next door [under the man’s house] and during inspection, it exploded. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The occupant of the house was not home at the time. Members of the Guyana Fire Service responded promptly and were able to save the burning house and the buildings next door.

It is unclear if the Guyana Police Force will stand the expense of repairing the elderly man’s home.
