[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is insisting that Publisher of the Kaieteur News, Glenn Lall submit himself for questioning at the Brickdam Police Station as investigations continue into the recorded conversation between Attorney General, Anil Nandlall and senior journalist attached to the newspaper, Leonard Gildarie.

In a media release today, the GPF maintained that it is in possession of three signed statements that have been received from Lall in this matter.

It was noted that the statements are on the Kaieteur News letterhead and while one is undated, the other two are dated October 27, 2014, and October 28, 2014, respectively.

“Two of the statements were submitted along with the audio recording and the transcript of that recording and the other was submitted subsequently,” the GPF release noted.

The Force admitted that Lall spoke to Detective Deputy Superintendent Michael Kingston yesterday, Thursday October 30, who, among other things, reiterated the invitation by the Divisional Commander of “A” Division for him to attend the Brickdam Police Station in order that an interview can be conducted to clarify some issues in his statements.

“As soon as Detective Deputy Superintendent Michael Kingston told Mr. Glenn Lall that he has to attend Brickdam for that reason, Mr. Glenn Lall hung up the phone,” the Police noted.

The Police Force had previously stated that Lall and Gildarie are reluctant to be interviewed by the Police; iNews however understands that Gildarie was reportedly taken for questioning this morning at the Brickdam Police Station after police officers showed up at his house.

“The Guyana Police Force wishes to inform that it is not desirous of making a public relations issue out of this matter and further insists that Mr. Glenn Lall presents himself to the Brickdam Police Station, to either the Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Clifton Hicken or Detective Deputy Superintendent Michael Kingston, so that the interview can be conducted,” the GPF stated.

Lall, on the other hand, is questioning why the Attorney General has not yet been questioned by the GPF, since he is the one accused of making violent threats against him [Lall] and the staff of Kaieteur News.
