[www.inewsguyana.com] – Essequibo Magistrate Sunil Scarce has fined Mini bus operator Devaughn Fordyce of Dartmouth village, Essequibo Coast a sum of $80,000 on two charges.

Fordyce was charged with driving without a license and breach of insurance. He pleaded guilty to both charges. The man was not charged for causing death by dangerous driving. iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) understands that investigations are still ongoing as it relates to this matter.

Fordyce, during his appearance in the Court explained that he took a “chance” and was driving along Clark Street in Dartmouth to collect the licensed driver for the bus when an accident occurred. He said he is the conductor of the bus.

According to reports, Fordyce drove motor bus BRR 7143 through Clark street on March 23 knowing that he was not licensed to drive and allegedly struck down eleven month old Javiel Peters, who died.
