Michael Pollard appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry charged with discharging a loaded firearm in the direction of Nigel Jerrick, possession of a 12 gauge single barrel shot gun and possession of three .12 gauge cartridges.

The man pleaded not guilty to all three offences. It is alleged that on July 24 at Mango Landing Essequibo, he had the gun and ammunition on his possession knowing that he is not the holder of a firearm license.

According to the police prosecutor, on the day of the incident the accused and Nigel Jerrick had a misunderstanding when the accused pulled out a shot gun and fired several shots towards the virtual complainant.

The prosecutor said the matter was reported and a search was conducted on the accused in which the 12 gauge single barrel shot gun and three .12 gauge cartridges were found. The Chief Magistrate refused bail and Pollard will make his next court appearance on September 16 at the Kamarang Magistrate’s court. [Royan Abrams]
