[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police have arrested a man who was found with an unlicensed firearm and several matching rounds.

A police release stated that at approximately 23:20 hrs on October 18, ranks of a police foot patrol conducted a search on a man at Alexander Street, Kitty, in whose possession was found an unlicensed .357 revolver with five rounds.

He is in police custody assisting with the investigations. This comes just days after the Guyana Police force concluded the Gun Amnesty programme where persons were granted the opportunity to surrender unlicensed firearms and ammunition without being prosecuted.
