[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police are continuing their investigations into the brutal murder of 13 – month – old Arian Gill, who was shot dead at her grandmother’s Eastville Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara home on Sunday, October 18.
According to a police report, a man armed with a firearm discharged rounds through a window of the bottom flat of the home, which fatally wounded the baby girl and injured her 12-year-old aunt, Ashley Wellington to her left foot.
Gill was shot to her back and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital, while Wellington has been admitted a patient.
“The suspect has been identified as a man who shared a recently ended common-law relationship with the infant’s grandmother. He has not yet been arrested as the investigations continue,” the release noted.

The Police Force did not name the suspect nor have they issued a wanted bulletin; however he has been identified by the family as 35 – year – old Marc Angoy. Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum had revealed that the shooter and the grandmother, Shelly Norton were in a relationship but separated about a month ago.
He disclosed that Norton, who owns a shop in the interior, had obtained a restraining order against the man. iNews understands that at the time of the shooting, the two children were in the sitting room area while Norton was in her bedroom.
