Mahdia accident victims out of danger

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The eleven persons who were injured in the Mahdia accident on Monday, November 02, are out of danger.

iNews was reliably informed that the injured, including those who were air dashed to the City, are in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, the police are continuing their investigations into the accident and mechanical checks are to be carried out on the vehicle.

iNews understands that the truck was being driven by 52-year-old Charles Burrows of 111 Miles, Mahdia, Potaro when it developed mechanical problems.

The driver of the truck and mining camp owner, Charles Burrows, who was also flown to the city for medical attention, said that he was heading from one camp location to another when the steering of the truck snapped, causing the truck to run off the trail.

Following the accident, seven of the injured were air dashed to the City but none was in a critical condition. The others were treated at the Mahdia Health Centre.
