[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Jamaican National was remanded to prison until June 29 after he appeared in the Albion Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of attempted murder against businessman and former police officer, Ravi Outar.

The court was told that on June 10, the accused, Ralvin Mc Lean transported the gunman to the scene in Rose Hall Town Corentyne Berbice, where several rounds were discharged at Outar in front of his home.

Statements taken from Outar by the police revealed that the accused is known to him. A police statement had noted that at about 20:00 hrs, 39-year-old Outar of Rose Hall, Corentyne was standing on the roadway in front of his home when he was approached by a man who discharged several rounds from a firearm at him and escaped.

Reports indicate that relatives believe that the shooting was a clear attempt at an execution given that the man approached and started shooting without uttering a word.
