[www.inewsguyana.com] – Anferny Archer, who was accused of several counts of armed robbery and who had initially pleaded not guilty to the offences, changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison by City Magistrate Alex Moore.

It is alleged that Archer of 185, Independence Blvd, Georgetown being in company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Jamiala Josiah, Jermaine Kerr, Dwayne Harvey, Kimberly Moore, Keith Conway and Howard Dimitri of two handbags, two cellular phones, a gold wedding band, and $8,000 cash, all valuing $175,500.

Archer, when he made his first court appearance before Magistrate Ann McLennan back on August 26, had pleaded not guilty to the offences.

However, in a surprise move today, changed his plea to guilty. He was sentenced to two years in prison for each charge. The sentences will run concurrently.
