Fishermen fake piracy attack

[www.inewsguyana.com]The Guyana Police Force is reporting that it recovered an out-board engine and a lighting plant which three fishermen had reported on Saturday were taken away by suspected pirates.

According to the Police, its investigations revealed that the men were being dishonest and a search of the area in which they said they were approached and robbed revealed the out-board engine was hidden in some bushes at the mouth of the Pomeroon River. The police reported that the men had intentions of selling the items.

One of the three men who made the report has been arrested and is being questioned by the police. They claimed that their attackers approached with a gun and cutlasses in hand.
