Fireman jailed for 48 months

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – four – year – old Dellon Harris, a fireman of Best Road, West Coast Demerara was today sentenced to 48 months imprisonment on a felonious wounding charge.

A trial was conducted before Magistrate Faith McGusty and Harris was found guilty.

On March 26, 2013 he made his first appearance and pleaded not guilty to the charge that said on January 1, 2013 at Water Street, Georgetown, he feloniously wounded Cedrick Bradshaw, with intent to maim, disfigure or cause him bodily harm.  

According to the Prosecution facts, both men are members of the Guyana Fire Service and on the day in question Bradshaw was on duty at the fire station when he and Harris had an exchange of words and called each other foul names.

Harris then cuffed Bradshaw to the face several times causing him to lose four of his teeth.

He was represented by Attorney-at-law, Michael Somersault and the matter was prosecuted by Police Prosecutor, Seon Blackman. A total number of ten witnesses testified along with two defence witnesses.
