[www.inewsguyana.com] – A fire which started just after midnight on Saturday (March 29) gutted the Family Planning Association Building on Croal Street, Georgetown.

Persons in the area said that they know nothing of how the fire started but related to iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) that the building is usually tightly secured in the evenings and is occupied Mondays to Fridays.

They are contending that the fire might have been electrical in origin. The Guyana Fire Service responded with three fire tenders and took water from the South Road Canal to assist in the firefighting.

The police also had a high presence at the scene even as residents of the area and late night party goers converge on the scene. iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) will provide a detailed story in a subsequent post.Fire 2
