Engineer charged with stealing Johnny Walker from Supermarket

[] – An Engineer of Princess Street, Lodge was today placed on $50,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a simple larceny charge.  

Lakeram Deonauth pleaded not guilty to the offence, which alleged that on December 17 at Sheriff Street, Georgetown, he stole one bottle of Johnny Walker Black valued $13,000 from Survival Supermarket.

Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the Court that the Security Guard held onto Deonauth at the door as he was trying to escape. He informed the Court that the item was recovered.

The unrepresented man will make his next court appearance on January 05, 2015.




  1. Shame!! If guilty jail him. He is a disgrace to the profession. GAPE should suspend him from practicing engineering.
