[www.inewsguyana.com] – Clothes vendor, Jason DeNobrega of Canje Berbice, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan for stealing a cellular phone.

The 22 – year – old pleaded not guilty to the offence which alleged that on Tuesday, March 25 at Lane Flower Restaurant, Ruimveldt Street, Georgetown, he stole one Nokia cellular phone from Natasha Dotson valued $8,000. 

Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones told the Court that the accused stole the cellular phone from the Virtual Complainant’s pants back pocket. During investigations he was apprehended after a call was made to the phone.

Bail was refused and he will make his next Court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on April 9.
