crime[www.inewsguyana.com]– A man was shot about the body in an apparent execution attempt at Turning Point, Tucville Georgetown on Tuesday night.

According to information received, the so far unidentified man was being chased by two gunmen on foot, who kept shooting in his direction. Eyewitnesses reported that the injured man may have also been armed but did not get a chance to use his weapon in retaliation.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim sought refuge under a concrete bridge in the community and his attackers escaped after shooting at it, thinking he was dead.

However, residents saw movements in the trench under the bridge and realised the man was still alive but seriously wounded. He was placed in the back of a police vehicle and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where doctors are battling to save his life.
