Bosai Employee charged with causing death by dangerous driving

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Bosai Minerals Employee, 24 – year – old Dexter Phil was today charged with the offence of causing death by dangerous driving and placed on $400,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan.

Phil pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on August 12 at Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara, he drove motorcar PPP 3299 in manner dangerous to the Public, causing the death of Dellon Michael Harlequin.

Phil was ordered to lodge his passport and report to the McKenzie Police Station every Monday until the completion of the matter. He will return to Court on October 22.

iNews had reported that on the day of the accident, Harlequin was heading in the direction of Georgetown on his bike, while the car PPP 3299 was turning into the Gas Station, when the two collided.

Harlequin reportedly ended up in a nearby trench, where it is suspected he hit his head on a GWI pipe. He was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Center in a critical state and subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
