[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – year – old Devon Holder, a Labourer of Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara was today remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate PriyaSewnarine-Beharry.

Holder pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on September 20 at Stabroek Market, Georgetown, being armed with a knife he robbed Nizam Mansoor of one Gold Chain valued $300,000.

The Court heard that on the day in question, the Virtual Complainant (VC) was in the market, when the defendant walked up to him and stabbed him to his neck. He then relieved the victim of the articles who was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Police later caught up with Holder where he allegedly admitted to committing the offence and was arrested and charged.

Prosecutor, Michael Grant successfully opposed bail on the nature, gravity and prevalence of the offence and the case was put off to October 10.

  1. law makers in Guyana not getting it out of fear of PNC…these parasites will never work for a living so why boost him up by calling him a Labourer …he is a terrorist and a thief and nothing more to him and should be jailed for 50 years to reflect…tax payers will pay for him to be on the inside rather than him being on the outside where he will for sure next time kill a tax payer..
