The scene of the fire. [Nakasia Logan Photo][www.inewsguyana.com] – An elderly woman was burnt to death on Saturday, August 08 after a fire destroyed two buildings in Bella Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.
Dead is 98- year – old Princess Tinnamon and according to reports reaching iNews, the fire is believed to have been started by a child, who was playing with matches. The fire has since left four persons homeless.
A neighbour, Anashia Whyte reported that the fire quickly engulfed the old wooden building.

By the time I pull my blind, I saw the house on fire but nothing could be saved. A… old woman died in the fire and the next one was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but a woman run out saying a little child cause the fire.”
The fire also spread to the office of Puran Brothers garbage disposal services, causing several explosions. Manager of the entity, Khalesh Puran, said the staff tried saving several important documents.
