[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man accused of stealing a quantity of clothing from a woman while they were both patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) Accident and Emergency Unit, has been sentenced to six months in prison, after he was found guilty of the offense by City Magistrate, Faith Mc Gusty.

The court heard that on October 14, Victor Joseph of Georgetown, stole a quantity of clothing to the value of $11,500, which is the property of Lynette Jageer.

Joseph, who made his first appearance on October 15, before Magistrate Mc Gusty, had pleaded not guilty to the offense.

The Prosecution had revealed that on the day in question, Joseph picked up the complainant’s bag, which was not far from her, and walked away with it.

Jageer, after realizing her bag was missing, alerted security at the hospital, who then apprehended Joseph with the bag and items.
