24 – Year – old charged for allegedly stealing CG Motorcycle

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – Four – Year – old Kevon Jordon of Perry Street, Tucville, Georgetown, facing a simple larceny charge was today placed on $75,000 bail by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

Jordan, a mason, pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that between May 8 and 28 at East La Penitence, Georgetown he stole one CG motorcycle 285 valued $325,000, property of Leon Smartt.

Police Prosecutor, Adduni Innis told the Court that on May 8 around 08:00 hrs the virtual complainant (VC) was riding to Linden, when his motorcycle experienced mechanical problems. He left the said bike by his friend’s yard and later that day; Police on patrol arrested three men at the said yard where they noticed a bike.

The motorcycle was taken to the police station. On May 28, the VC said he took all necessary documents to claim his motorcycle when he discovered that it was missing. Following an investigation, the unrepresented man took the Police to a house in Sophia after he admitted that he along with another stole the motorcycle.

He will return to Court on October 3 before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

  1. We need to implement the three strike rule on things like this is the victim is able to have the valuables back give the perpetrator a six months of counseling, classes and a 5 year ban if they violate it in the same manner within such time 2-3 year prison with labor.
