[www.inewsguyana.com] – Commonwealth representative, Chelsea Edghill was outplayed in both of her matches on the opening day of action on Sunday at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.
Out of Group F in the women’s singles, Edghill faced Poland’s Natalia Bajor and lost in three straight sets at 11-5, 11-5 and 11-7.
Returning later in the day to face Karoline Mischek of Austria, Edghill who put on a better shower was still unable to win a set point, going down 3-nil at 11-7, 11-7 and 11-6.
Edghill is expected to have one more match in the women’s group stage before playing the inter-country mixed doubles competition.
