[www.inewsguyana.com] – Rickford Jones, 24-Y-0 Mason and father of one, was today placed before Magistrate Fabayo Azore to answer to the capital offence of murder.

It is alleged that Jones of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown on November 8, 2015 at Festival City, murdered Christopher Wharton also known as ‘Taps’ or ‘Chrisy.’

Jones was not allowed to plead to the indictable offence and his lawyer noted that the accused is suffering at the hands of the police and had to receive medical treatment for his injuries.

In response, the Prosecution noted that after the accused made complaints that he was assaulted by the police, he was examined and given a medical certificate which stated he had no injuries at the time of examination.
