[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 19-year-old man of Lot 44 Princes Street, Georgetown, was on Tuesday, April 07, remanded to prison following a murder charge.

Nicholas Hercules was not required to plead to the indictable charge, when it was read to him by Magistrate Fabayo Azore. Particulars of which said that on Wednesday, April 01 at Princes Street, he murdered Carlos Solomon.

According to Police Prosecutor Simone Payne, the accused and Solomon were known to each other since they both resided at the same address.

The court heard that on the day in question, Hercules pulled out a knife and dealt Solomon a stab to his arm pit. Solomon was subsequently, rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he later succumbed to the inflicted injury.

Representing Hercules was attorney-at-law Mr. Lyndon Amsterdam, who told the court that his client received injuries as a result of the incident.

Defence Counsel indicated that Hercules was taken to the Hospital but was unable to receive a medical certificate, due to the extended holiday period. The matter was adjourned to April 13.
