19-Y-0 remanded for allegedly stealing motorcycle

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A labourer was on Monday, December 07, 2015 remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after he appeared before her charged with stealing a motorcycle.

Nineteen – year – old Leonard Allicock of Charlestown, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on December 02 at Albouystown, he stole one black 110 motorcycle CH 2882 valued at $200,000, property of Randy Thorne.

The court heard that the complainant and the accused work together and that the motorcycle was recovered in Grove. The complainant reportedly saw the accused with the motorcycle and took the police to the location where the accused was caught with the stolen item.

Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones related that the accused is known to the Police for such offences and as such objected to bail. Bail was denied and the young man was remanded to prison until December 22.
