[www.inewsguyana.com] – The body of a teenager was found early this morning [Monday, August 11] hanging from a Coconut Tree at Courtland Village on the Corentyne.
Dead is 14 – year – old Eston Jonas of Hampshire Street Courtland Village. He was discovered by his aunt hanging from the tree with a canvas rope tied to his neck.
His grandmother told iNews that he would usually assist her with her chores in the yard. His latest chore was assisting her with milking the cows and afterwards he left to go to the backyard, where he was seen sitting.
He was later found by his aunt. The teen was described as very helpful and his family is now at a loss as to why he would commit such an act. Neighbours believe that the incident might be an accident.
He was an only child and a student of the Port Mourant Secondary School. His body is currently at the Arokium funeral home awaiting a post mortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
