According to reports, the student is currently a patient of the Suddie Hospital while her father who is accused of impregnating her is in custody at the Charity Police station.
iNews understands that the matter was brought to light after the child was rushed and admitted to the hospital. Only recently, the Child Care and Protection Agency (CC&PA) launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl from Essequibo who recently gave birth to twins at the Suddie Hospital.
The student, also of Wakapoa, was rushed to the Charity Hospital but transferred to the Suddie Hospital on April 17 where she gave birth. According to reports, the pregnancy was only discovered after the young girl told a class teacher that she felt “something in her belly.”
