[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police have confirmed that Fazil Ali of Triumph, East Coast Demerara was robbed of $4M outside of Sleepin Hotel this morning.
According to a police report, at about 08:20 hrs, the 46 – year – old Taxi Driver was attacked and robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
Police investigations revealed that Ali was waiting in his motor vehicle outside of the Hotel, when he was confronted by the three men. He was shot to his left shoulder and the perpetrators took away a bag with $4M and escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.
Ali has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

This happens to be my Nephew you are talking about who was merely doing his Job in delivering the funds to the Bank for his Company that he works for. The money was not his Unfortunately, he should have Security with him because this is such a dangerous job. In Canada we have BRINKS Vans with Security when they are making Security Deposits.
The Newspaper did not report the whole story and that was extremely poor reporting on their Part. So before flying off the handle and making presumptuous accusations just get facts before speaking.
What in God’s name is he doing with 4M dollars and where did he get it from in this hard time. He should be jailed for lying.

It is heart rending to learn that such a serious crime was committed that close to the Brickdam Police Station…thank God that the man did not loss his life
