Teenager remanded for allegedly stealing Vodka, Whiskey; other items

[www.inewsguyana.com] – An 18 – year – old unemployed young man of Eccles Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan on break and enter and larceny charges.

Jermaine Josiah pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on July 15 at Green Field, Providence, East Bank Demerara, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Nicholas Marks and stole a quantity of items which include one Samsung laptop computer, one knife, one back pack, a quantity of gold jewellery, one bottle of vodka and one bottle of whisky.

It is alleged that the unrepresented man also stole one gold necklace, property of Shireen Bissoon, together with the other mentioned items valued $407,000.

Assistant Superintendant of Police Deneshwer Maindranaught opposed bail on the grounds that there are other investigations against the young man.

Josiah will make his next Court appearance on October 13.

  1. 18 and already with a promising career criminal..u bet your life on it that he will never work…he will never smell his sweat for a living…its like its inherit in some criminals DNA to be life long criminals…these are the ones that are let go over and over and over to drive fear into society..
