Teacher sent on leave following report of ‘sexual misconduct’ with students

crime against children[www.inewsguyana.com] – A male teacher attached to a Secondary School on Woolford Avenue, Georgetown  was sent on immediate leave by the Education Ministry following a report of inappropriate sexual behaviour towards several school girls.

This was confirmed to iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) by Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education, Suelle Findlay – Williams.

Findlay – Williams explained to this online news service (www.inewsguyana.com) that the teacher is not in police custody, since it is yet to be determined if he had sexual intercourse with any of the female students.

iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) understands that several school girls made the report against the teacher on Thursday, April 10. According to Findlay – Williams, the male teacher was employed as a ‘Temporary Qualified Master’ at the Secondary School.

The welfare and child care protection agency is investigating the report.
