[www.inewsguyana.com] – Several persons are now hospitalized, after the jet boat they were in, crashed in the Essequibo River.
A press statement from Guyana’s Maritime Administration revealed that at around 5:00hrs on Saturday, May 03, the vessel was in the vicinity of Welga as it was proceeding from Parika to Bartica when the accident occurred.
It was noted that there were fourteen persons on board. Officers from the Maritime Administration Department are in the area assessing the situation and are conducting the initial phase of the investigation.
