[www.inewsguyana.com] – Deputy Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud plans to put a lot of his attention on communities and their youths when he becomes the Commissioner of Police.

He made the comment on Friday, March 21 when asked by reporters about the focus when he takes over the leadership of the force later this month.

At present, Persaud is heading several community based programs which are managed by the Police Force in several high risk communities such as Albouystown, Agricola and communities on the East Coast of Demerara and Berbice.

Asked about his readiness for the job, the Crime Chief said that he is fully well geared to take over the operations from Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell.

Persaud told reporters that he has been in the Police Force for the past thirty years and more recently he has been acting as the Deputy to the Commissioner of Police hence he is very familiar with the operations of the organization.

Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell is currently passed the retirement age and has been asked to remain in the Top Cop position until the end of this month. The official handing over of the command of the Force is expected within the next two weeks.
